ReplyI like the place as well, but I don't think we'd have to worry about development if it were to be sold. It's my understanding that the land is part of the Montco preserved land trust- so that if it were sold, it couldn't be developed unless the new owners repaid all the back taxes that the farm owners had been given- for agreeing to preserve their land and not developing it. I could be wrong, but that's how I understood the program.

ReplyAte there the other night, for the first time in the new dining room. Nicely done, with a bunch of tables, a counter, some tvs, etc. As usual, a great sandwich, at a reasonable price, with friendly service.

ReplyIf it is a blog post by a representative of that law firm, I think it would only be fair to have a disclaimer at the beginning of the piece, stating who the writer is and their affiliation with the company. Otherwise, a lot of people will think it is an article, and not just a blog piece.

ReplyThat's why I moved to the Borough of Collegeville. Our own police department who respond VERY quickly to our needs and concerns. Yes, it may cost a few more dollars in taxes a year, but well worth it. Trappe should look into forming a joint police force with Collgegville to share costs for each municipality. Relying on the State Police for attention to one's concerns and a quick response time is unrealistic. They have too large of an area to patrol and they are understaffed for it.

ReplyUrsinus is unquestionably a very good school, but I think most would agree that it is WAY overpriced. I think you can get much more "bang for your buck" elsewhere, but everyone has their preference.

ReplyI think salary freezes and increases in benefit costs for employees, for 2 years, would be fair- along with smaller cuts in other areas. I think employees have to show a willingness to shoulder some of the shortfall as many employees have had to do in the private sector.

I agree completely. I wonder why the kids in this article are picky eaters? I'm guessing the parenting dliemna started very early on for this family. I agree with you Kelly- who's running the show here, the parents or the kids. Those meals are really poor quality and I don't see any vegetables in there at all.
Parents need to remember that they are the parents and to feed their children food that is good for them, yet still tasty. You can't please everyone all the time, and if you go around catering to your kids like this mom- your just raising children who will become very inflexible, demanding and spoiled young adults. -
On the article County Taxes Going Up 17 Percent

ReplyI'm no big supporter of tax increases, but in the overall picture, it's not that bad. Our taxes our lower than Bucks and some other neighboring counties, and it is our first tax increase in like 7 or 8 years, so not that bad overall. I don't know why they just didn't do smaller tax increases over the past 8 years, instead of taking one big 17 percent raise all of a sudden. Also, I would have been happy if they cut a bit more waste to save some money as well.

Maybe stop coddling your child. You made the mistake of showing her she can get what she wants by throwing a fit. Unfortunately you created your own problem.
