Reports of Voter Fraud, Voter ID Challenges, Irregularities Reported in Eastern PA

Election Day brought problems at polls in several areas of eastern Pennsylvania

EASTERN PA — Several reports of voting irregularities in Eastern Pennsylvania emerged on Tuesday, the day of the presidential election. In Easton, signs appeared offering a $1,000 reward for information leading to voter fraud convictions. A constable for Easton’s 10th ward removed one such sign staked into the ground after consulting with an elections attorney on site. The Pennsylvania Commercial Action Network, the same group that posted “Replace ObamaCare” billboards around the state, made the signs. ID Requests Many Easton voters also reported poll workers asking for their IDs, even though IDs are not required for this election cycle under the law. Beleaguered Rep. Responds to Voter ID Ruling

Republican House Majority Leader Mike Turzai, who created a rallying cry for voter ID opponents when he said the bill was going to "allow Governor Romney to win the state of Pennsylvania," responds to the voter ID development.

Republican House Majority Leader Mike Turzai, who made headlines in June after telling a group of fellow GOP supporters that Pennsylvania's Voter ID bill will "allow Governor Romney to win the State of Pennsylvania," released a statement on today's decision to delay the implementation of the law until after the Presidential Election. Turzai's June statement, made to members of the Republican State Committee, was spun by critics as a Republican admission that the Voter ID bill was created to suppress Democratic turnout, not prevent voter fraud. The Allegheny County representative admitted to poor phrasing, but his gaffe was featured on The Colbert Report and The Daily Show with John Stewart, as well as several other national media outlets. …
