Thefts Probed in Collegeville Area
Several thefts from unlocked vehicles occurred in the area between Feb. 2 and Feb. 8.
The Upper Providence Township Police Department released details regarding the recent thefts from motor vehicles in the township, Collegeville and Trappe Boroughs. Approximately $1,500 in moveable property was stolen, including GPS units, iPods, U.S. currency and cellular telephones, police said. At least two males have been committing thefts from unlocked vehicles in the Collegeville and Royersford sections of Upper Providence in early-morning hours between Feb. 2 and Feb. 9, according to police. Patch previously reported that Collegeville Police Chief Bart Bucher cautioned residents to lock car doors at night due to area break-ins, and the Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a similar incident around the same time.
