Susquehanna Bank presented a $5,000 check to the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation on Friday to sponsor Collegeville Borough’s first Community Day in five years. Collegeville Economic Development Corporation crowned a winner in the “’Tis the Season” decorating contest, sponsored by Susquehanna Bank.
Russell Lauren & Co Hair Designers was voted the best-decorated business in Collegeville by a contest coordinated by the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation and sponsored by Susquehanna Bank. The hair design business, located on S. Collegeville Ave. next to Corner Cafe 29, featured decorations throughout the salon, from a large Santa greeting customers, to small wreathes at every hair styling station. Russell Lauren & Co. owner Sal Pumo is no stranger to winning holiday decorating contests – before he moved his at-home business to this Collegeville spot, he had won similar contests. Collegeville Economic Development Corporation organized the first-ever Collegeville Art & Music Festival along Main Street on Oct. 13.
Perkiomen Valley residents enjoyed the fall weather at the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation's Art & Music Festival on Oct. 14 in the DaVinci's Pub parking lot on Main Street in Collegeville. The event, which was sponsored by Susquehanna Bank, included live music, performers and contests for community members from Noon to 5 p.m. Local art and craft vendors sold their wares, Phamous Phil's BBQ offered food and DaVinci's offered a wine and beer garden. There were activities for children, including a moon bounce and other craft activities. The day's sponsors included DaVinci's Pub, Dance Depot, Yoga Bar and Dr. Dave McSurdy. I realize this was the first one but very disappointing. Where was the "art". The children's activities were well organized but many ladies representing corporate home businesses does not constitute an art festival. We have so many wonderful artists and juried crafters in the area. Hope you work on encouraging them to join for next year to make it a true art and music festival.   more ›
