Police Investigating Early-Morning Bridge Street Crash, Suspect DUI

After a man struck a utility pole in Perkiomen Township at 3:45 a.m. on Jan. 19, reported major power outages in the area.

  The Pennsylvania State Police are investigating an early-morning Jan. 19 crash on the 200 block of Bridge Street as a suspected DUI. James Ray Benson, of Collegeville, was traveling Westbound on Bridge Street in Perkiomen Township in a 2003 Mazda Protégé when he traveled into the opposing lane and off the roadway on the left, striking a fence and utility pole, police said. Trappe Ambulance transported Benson, 25, who allegedly exhibited signs of being under the influence, to Paoli Hospital for injuries and a legal blood draw, according to police. Residents questioned a loud crash and power outage in the Schwenksville area at around the time of the crash, and Perkiomen Valley High School, which is nearby, lost power through Saturday …

Police: Medical Condition May Have Played Part in Crash

Trappe Ambulance transported a Limerick woman to Paoli Hospital to be treated for injuries following a one-car crash in Trappe Borough around 11:45 p.m. on March 23. According to a Pennsylvania State Police report, Danielle Jarota, 27, was driving west in the 300 block of Main Street, and as her Chevrolet HHR “arrived in the area of Apian Way, it traveled onto the sidewalk” and crashed into a utility pole. “It is likely that this crash was due, in part, to a medical condition,” the report states. Trappe Fire Co. also assisted at the scene. Another Burglary at Schwenksville Liquor Store

  Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a burglary at the Schwenksville Wine and Spirits store; it occurred sometime between 12:05 and 2:21 a.m. March 10, according to a report. Police said the perpetrator gained entry to the store by “smashing the right side glass entry door. Once inside, (the burglar) then walked to the front display case and removed items from the display.” The burglar removed five bottles from the display and then left the scene, dropping one bottle while exiting, the report states. It is not stated whether or not this burglary is connected with a similar incident in December 2011. Three Men Sought in Connection with Green Lane Attack

Pennsylvania State Police are seeking information about three men who physically assaulted a 42-year-old man outside Rockwell’s Restaurant in Green Lane shortly after 8 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 26. According to a police report, three men who were drinking at Rockwell’s pulled the man outside the restaurant and repeatedly punched and kicked him. The man suffered several injuries, including cuts and bruises to his hands, face and arms as well as “major internal injuries to his rib section,” the report states. Skippack Burglary Under Investigation

A Skippack man reported a burglary at his home in the 2000 block of Old Forty Foot Road, according to a Pennsylvania State Police report. The incident occurred sometime between Sunday, Jan. 15, and Wednesday, Jan. 18. The man told police that people damaged his residence’s garage door and entered the garage. There was also an attempt to enter the residence by “forcing a front window up and tearing out the interior screen,” the report states. Gunshots Fired, Property Damaged in Trappe

Pennsylvania State Police are investigating a New Year’s Eve incident in which a gunshot damaged property in the 100 block of Lafayette Circle in Trappe. According to a police report, two women said shortly before 9 p.m. they heard six to seven gunshots from the rear yard and heard a window break. “A spent round was found in the window frame (of a second-floor rear bedroom) along with a broken window,” the report states. Police: Schwenksville Man Suffers Head Wound in Assault

A Schwenksville teen was treated for a two-inch cut on his head after he was struck by a “football-sized rock” during an altercation with another Schwenksville man in the borough on Monday afternoon, Pennsylvania State Police said. According to a police report, the two men became engaged in an argument in the 100 block of Park Avenue on Nov. 28 when the 18-year-old man was struck with the rock. Pennsylvania State Police: Reported Fugitive Taken into Custody

Pennsylvania State Police arrested Timothy Landis, 27, in the 500 block of Main Street in Schwenksville, Oct. 26, based on a Delaware arrest warrant, according to a report. Landis is facing stalking and sexual harassment charges in that state, police said. He was taken at Montgomery County Correctional Facility until he could be extradited to Delaware, according to the report. District Justice Albert J. Augustine set Landis’ bail at $5,000 cash, police said. A Schwenksville man was treated for injuries after the car he was driving struck a house on Route 29/Gravel Pike in Lower Frederick on Thursday evening, July 28. James Logan, 50, was traveling north in the 1100 block when he reportedly lost control of a 2004 Ford Explorer, drove through some bamboo plants, then “into and through the porch of an empty residence,” and then struck the brick wall of a nearby home,” according to a Pennsylvania State Police report. Logan was cited for a vehicle code violation, the report states.
