Crash on Ridge Pike Injures Three

The victims, a mother and her two children, suffered what were described as non-life-threatening injuries.

Last updated 9:10 p.m. Thursday A mother and her two young children were injured Thursday evening in a two car collision on Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township. Officer Scott Reynolds of the Upper Providence Township Police department said the injured driver, a woman in her 20s, and her two children sustained what he described as non-life-threatening injuries. The mother and children were from "the Collegeville area," Reynolds said. Reynolds said the male driver of the second car, a 17-year-old from Lansdale, was not injured. His car was traveling westbound on Ridge Pike when he attempted to make a left turn into the Court at Upper Providence shopping plaza shortly after 6:30 p.m. His car crossed in front of the woman's vehicle, which …

Public Weighs In on Initial Ridge Pike West Vision

Local businesses and residents support vision for the Ridge Pike West project, but question implementation and residential walkability.

The Lower Providence Planning Commission held its monthly meeting Oct. 24, in which both commission members and members of the business and local communities discussed the vision for the western portion of Ridge Pike. Sean Metrick, senior planner with the Montgomery County Planning Commission, who helping the Planning Commission with the Ridge Pike project, gave a comprehensive presentation of the development ideas made by commission members at the previous two meetings. According to Metrick, a new water service area along the stretch of Ridge Pike between Evansburg Park and the Perkiomen Creek, has now made it possible to attract investors for development. Big Plans in Store for Ridge Pike West Revitalization

The Lower Providence Planning Commission sets a vision for a corridor of Ridge Pike that may lead to the creation of ‘Evansburg West.’

The July 25 Lower Providence Planning Commission met to discuss revitalization potential, focusing on a stretch of Ridge Pike in the Evansburg section of the township. Specifically, this northwestern section of Lower Providence encompasses an area along Ridge Pike from Evansburg State Park to the Collegeville Borough Border. [See enlarged map in media gallery] The July 25 meeting was the second meeting to discuss such revitalization efforts in that part of the township. Man Injured in Two-Car Collision in Trappe

Ford Escape hit PECO truck head on; crash's cause unreported at this time.

Trappe EMS transported a man to Pottstown Hospital for treatment of facial injuries following a two-vehicle, head-on collision in the 560 block of Main Street in Trappe around 4 a.m., according to Trappe Fire Company Deputy Chief Robert Greenwood. According to reports at the scene, a PECO crews were working on poles along Main Street to restore power that had been lost due to a car crash Saturday evening. They were finishing the job when a Ford Escape hit the PECO truck, which was parked in the lane of travel with its lights on, witnesses said. The SUV's driver was the car's only occupant.
