PV Chamber Holding Annual Meeting Thursday

Ursinus President Bobby Fong will serve as the keynote speaker; Community Music School Founder Edwina French will be recognized.

  More than 125 businesses throughout the Perkiomen Valley will meet Thursday at the RiverCrest Golf Club and Preserve for the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce Annual Meeting. Ursinus College President Bobby Fong will deliver the lunch’s keynote address, “Finding Your Vocation.” “We celebrate the success and accomplishments of 2012 with a year in review slideshow presentation,” according to the chamber. The board will pass the gavel from outgoing chairman Bruce Zanar to Patrick J. Kelly, of Kelly Insurance. The event will begin with an exhibitor showcase and networking from 11:30 a.m. to noon, followed by the lunch. Tickets are $35 for members, $50 for non-members. The 2013 Marvin J. Perkiomen Valley Airport Celebrates 75 Years

The Skippack business is holding a ribbon cutting Friday and an open house all weekend.

  The Perkiomen Valley Airport is celebrating 75 years in business this weekend, starting with a ribbon cutting ceremony on Friday at noon and an open house over the weekend. The event will be held from noon to 4 p.m. in the Airport Lounge, located at 767 Collegeville Road in Skippack Township.  Weekend hours are are 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. “[It] Always has been a safe and peaceful haven for aircraft,” said Joy Bose, aircraft manager. The airport offers flights, skydiving drops, discover flights and introductory flying lessons. The Perkiomen Valley Airport also provides parking and storage for antique, sports and utility vehicles, boats, yachts, marine equipment, TVs, motor homes and car-haulers. PV Chamber to Host a Women's Night Out

The new Collegeville Yoga Bar will play host to the night's networking event.

Are you a business woman in the Perkiomen Valley area? Are you looking for better ways to network locally? The Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce may have your answer. The chamber's group dubbed "PV Win" or Women in Networking, hosts occassional events for local businesswomen to meet one another and network. On Jan. 30, the Ladies' Night out event will feature time for both. From 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., women interested in WIN can attend a social hour and mixer at the new Collegeville Yoga Bar, located at 222 E. Main St., Collegeville in the Collegeville Shopping Center. Women may also bring a friend. There is no cost to PV Chamber members, and the cost for non-members is $10. The mixer will use the new 2,000-sqaure-foot studio to introduce …

Support the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce Monday

Diners at DaVinci's on April 30 can give 20 percent of their food bill to the PVCC.

Residents can lend a helping had to the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce on Monday with the Dine to Donate program at DaVinci’s Pub. On April 30, those that dine or order take-out from the restaurant will be helping support the nonprofit, which aims to increase economic growth of local business and the community in the Perkiomen Valley area. DaVinci’s Pub, located at 217 E. Main St., Collegeville, will support the organization by giving back 20 percent of all purchases of food during the day to the PVCC. A reservation is not required, but guests should print and present this flyer in order to have their check count. DaVinici’s is a member of the PVCC. Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce to Honor 'Coach T'

Brian Thomas to receive Marvin J. Lewis Community Service Award

Ursinus College released the following information: Respected Ursinus College baseball coach, educator and community booster   Brian Thomas is the recipient of the 2012 Marvin J. Lewis Community Service Award, from the Perkiomen Valley Chamber of Commerce. Thomas will be honored at the Chamber’s annual meeting, March 28 at Rivercrest Golf Club and Preserve in Phoenixville, at 11:30 a.m. Registration can be found here. Thomas, who is retiring after 43 years in coaching, has spent 23 years at Ursinus College. He is well-known throughout the area as one of its finest teachers of baseball fundamentals and motivators of young people. He was Athletic Director at Ursinus College from 2000-2010.
