Corbett Signs Toepel's 'Brad Fox Law' in Plymouth Meeting

The law, introduced by State Rep. Marcy Toepel, imposes mandatory minimum sentence for second time "straw purchasers."

Before Pennsylvania Governor Tom Corbett ceremonially signed the "Brad Fox" bill, sponsored by State Representative Marcy Toepel (R-147), into law Friday, he first made a stop to understand the full weight of its importance. The governor entered an industrial section of Plymouth Township, retracing the route of a high-speed pursuit that took place not four months ago, and turned a corner to walk parallel with the county bike trail. A few hundred feet away he came across a collection of hockey sticks and hockey pucks, flowers and flags, memorializing the spot where Plymouth Police Officer Bradley Fox drew his final breath.      The governor then met with law enforcement and with Fox's family, including wife Lynsay, her belly healthy and …

DA: Fox's Killer 'Ambushed' Him

Suspect Andrew Charles Thomas' death was ruled a suicide; Thomas was on probation after pleading guilty to forgery in May.

Montgomery County authorities on Friday afternoon identified Andrew Charles Thomas, 44, as the man who shot and killed Plymouth Township police officer Bradley Fox on Thursday evening. Thomas was on probation after pleading guilty to forgery charges in May, authorities said. According to the Montgomery County District Attorney's office, Thomas' forgery charge resulted from a 2005 incident in Upper Merion when he used $140.00 worth of counterfeit Acme gift certificates. He remained at large for seven years until being taken into custody on May 21, …

Fallen Police Officer Brad Fox 'A Hero'

The law enforcement community responds to the first Plymouth officer killed in the line of duty.

"Brad Fox is a hero." That simple statement bookended Plymouth Township Police Chief Joseph Lawrence's address to the media Thursday night, as he stood in the suddenly cool night air just a few hundred yards from where Officer Bradley Fox was killed in the line of duty. "Brad was with [the department] for seven years, and just recently graduated the Philadelphia K-9 school with his partner, Nick," said Lawrence, adding that Fox is survived by an expectant wife and young daughter. "This was a senseless, senseless act." The Montgomery County Board of Commissioners also issued a statement on Fox's death. "This senseless act tragically reminds us that, even in a place like Montgomery County, when our law enforcement personnel go to work every …
