Freedom Valley Y Offers Coupon-Trading Program

Members meet twice a month to swap savings and collect coupons to send to military bases.

Beginning Aug. 6, the Freedom Valley YMCA’s Pottstown Branch will introduce a new coupon exchange to benefit community members and the heroes serving our country. Lynn Seponski, Pottstown YMCA physical director, oversees all programming for the branch. The program is free of charge and will be held on the first and third Mondays of each month. Pattie Ann Bilyk works at the Pottstown branch and is a member of the mothers' club that organized the coupon exchange. “People can swap, exchange coupons—anyone who can’t stay for the exchange is welcome to donate unused coupons to the group,” she said. This …

Free Admission to The 'Y' On Saturday

The reason behind the initiative is simple: The YMCA has recognized that there is a need, especially during this time of year, to encourage kids to be active and remind them that they shouldn’t crash on the couch just because school is out. Research shows that kids are more prone to gain weight and experience reduced mental stimulation during summer months. The Y maintains that summer …
