LOST CAT: Help Find Clarence!

Clarence escaped on March 18 from parking lot the veterinary clinic on the 1000 block of Dekalb Pike near Palermo's Pizza. He's believed to be in Whitpain or Worcester, which is miles from his home in Whitemarsh.

Have you seen Clarence? He escaped on March 18 from the parking lot of the veterinary clinic along the 1000 block of Dekalb Pike, and his owner is deperately seeking his safe return to his home in Whitemarsh. He's described by his owner as follows: The owner told Patch that Clarence may have been seen repeatedly since March 30 near Whitpain Hills, Saint John's Church, the Mara Drive Development and Sunnybrook. The most recent sighting was on April 14 on Ashford Lane, west of Whitpain Hills, according to a witness. If you see Clarence, the owners asks that you attempt to feed him and call her immediately at 267-408-5396. President Bill Clinton held a rally in Blue Bell, less than 24 hours before the polls open to vote for President of the United States.

With less than 24 hours until the polls open in Pennsylvania, former President Bill Clinton stopped at Montgomery County Community College in Blue Bell to rally Democratic voters. Montgomery County Commissioner Josh Shapiro, Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, as well as Congressional candidates George Badey and Kathy Boockvar preceded Clinton at the rostrum. Skippack Pike Will Be Closed for Railroad Crossing Repairs

Skippack Pike between North Wales Rd. and Route 202 will be closed for one week beginning Oct. 15.

From Whitpain Township Police: Skippack Pike will be closed between North Wales Rd. and Route 202 in Whitpain Township for approximately one week beginning Oct. 15. The closure will allow CSX to accomplish much needed upgrades to the railroad crossing, which will enhance safety for motorists on Skippack Pike. Residents and businesses will continue to have full access to their properties, but Skippack Pike will be completely closed at the railroad crossing. Advance notice signs have been places on Skippack Pike to alert motorists to the planned closure. Motorists should expect delays and allow extra travel time. Detour routes will be posted in the area when construction begins. Morris Rd. and Township Line Rd. (south) can be used as …

Rabies Found Near Skippack Pike in Blue Bell

A bat caught on the 900 block of Skippack Pike has tested positive for rabies.

Whitpain Township is reporting that a bat caught on the 900 block of Skippack Pike in Blue Bell has tested positive for rabies.  "Anyone that has been bitten, scratched or had saliva exposure by a bat must receive treatment to prevent this fatal disease. If you, someone in your household, or any of your pets have possibly had contact with a bat or any other stray or wild animal, immediately call the Montgomery County Health Department, Division of Communicable Disease Control at (610) 278-5117," reports the Township.

Muddy Angels stop in Whitpain on their trip to Virginia form Boston.

Nearly 90 bicyclists stopped in Whitpain on their journey from Boston to Alexandria, VA, on Wednesday afternoon. The Muddy Angels, started their trip on Friday in Boston and will finish the tour of the east cost on Friday in Alexandria, VA. Along the way, they ride through Rhode Island, Ne York, including New York City, New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Riders are from all over the country, from Maine to Florida, and including California and Washington State. In the past riders from Canada, Germany and Ireland have joined the Muddy Angels in the sojourn. World Trade Center Steel Coming to Whitpain Township on Wednesday

The ceremonial processional and a ceremony will take place at the Whitpain Township building Wednesday.

After almost three years of waiting, Second Alarmers Rescue Squad in Whitpain Township will bring home a piece of the World Trade Center towers in New York. Jamie Haddon, executive director of SARS, said when he saw the opportunity to receive a piece of the World Trade Center, he jumped at the chance and applied. On Wednesday, July 27, the 12.5-foot, 3,105-pound artifact will make its way from the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to Whitpain Township, concluding at the Whitpain Township building with a ceremony to begin around 4 p.m., depending on the traffic and travel conditions from New York.
