Local authorities are searching for a man who has exposed himself, masturbated in public before walkers in both townships.
After five reported cases, the area's police are working together to find a man that has been exposing himself in public. Lower Providence and Upper Providence Township Police Departments are investigating five reported incidents of indecent exposure occurring between April 6 and May 12 in both Lower Providence or Upper Providence townships. The incidents have occurred in the late afternoon and early evening as area residents walk along roads or trails, according to police. Each of the five reports were filed as having happened between 3:20 and 7:25 p.m. Police say that the man would be in place prior to the walkers approaching, jump out of his vehicle without any pants on, or with his pants pulled down. Last updated 9:10 p.m. Thursday A mother and her two young children were injured Thursday evening in a two car collision on Ridge Pike in Upper Providence Township. Officer Scott Reynolds of the Upper Providence Township Police department said the injured driver, a woman in her 20s, and her two children sustained what he described as non-life-threatening injuries. The mother and children were from "the Collegeville area," Reynolds said. Reynolds said the male driver of the second car, a 17-year-old from Lansdale, was not injured. Upper Providence supervisors support Lower Perkiomen Valley Regional Authority's efforts to comply with DEP requests without causing any additional financial burden on ratepayers.
Multiple reports have been published regarding the Perkiomen Valley Regional Sewer Authority (LPVRSA)'s middle interceptor plan, which has become a source of contention between Lower Providence Township and many of the Perkiomen Valley townships in the LPVRSA - Perkiomen and Skippack Townships, and Collegeville and Trappe Boroughs. Upper Providence Township, not technically situated in the Perkiomen Valley, is home to the LPVRSA treatment plant in Oaks. West Nile Virus was recently discovered in Collegeville, Trappe and Upper Providence mosquitoes, where spraying is being performed.
Mosquito spraying will occur in Collegeville, Trappe and Upper Providence tonight between 7:15 pm and 10 pm. The Montgomery County Health Department (MCHD) will perform the non-arial sprays where mosquitoes infected with West Nile Virus were recently found. The boundaries for spraying in Collegeville Borough are East Main St., West 5th Ave. and Avon Ave., east to the borough line. The Trappe Borough boundaries will be Borough Line Rd., North Borough LIne Rd., Linfield Trappe Rd., West Main St. and West 7th Ave. Spraying in Upper Providence Township will be limited to the Perkiomen Woods housing development. Lower Providence Township released the following information: A lubricant leaking from a tractor trailer caused unsafe road conditions Friday morning, forcing the closure of all four lanes of Egypt Road in Upper Providence Township. Lower Providence Township Fire Marshal Charles A. DeFrangesco observed the liquid leaking out of the trailer compartment of the vehicle at approximately 9:16 a.m. as it traveled south on Park Avenue near Eagleville Road. DeFrangesco conducted a traffic stop on Egypt Road at New Mill Road in Upper Providence Township. The driver told DeFrangesco that he was aware of the unsecure load having noticed it leaking while at a business in Eagleville. The tractor trailer is owned by Volpe Express. The truck did not …
