Speaker's House Tree Lighting [PHOTOS]

Elected officials, local groups and families celebrated the season at the Speaker's House in Trappe Borough.

Trappe Today and Tomorrow welcomed residents to celebrate the holiday season with a tree lighting at the Speaker's House on Wednesday, complete with a visit from Santa. Music was provided by the Perkiomen Valley Middle School chorus and the Community Music School, and Trappe Mayor Connie Peck lit the tree as dozens of community members watched. The Douglas Fir was purchased by Justin Bartolomucci of Edward Jones in Trappe, and was transported by Varner's farm. Ms. Aretha Singer's South Elementary School art students provided the hand-made ornaments. Refreshments were served by Boy Scout Troop 7155 and the Collegeville Rotary Club. Gallery: Collegeville Christmas Tree Lighting

The Collegeville Economic Development Corporation Hosted an evening of holiday fun, including a visit from Santa and the lighting of the Collegeville Christmas tree.

Collegeville residents "got jolly" with the Collegeville Main Street program on Dec. 1, celebrating the holiday spirit with a number of events. Thanks to sponsorships from PNC Bank at Providence Town Center, Justin Bartomolucci's Edward Jones Financial Services, the Law Firm of Miller Turetsky Ruly & McLennan, The Valley Forge Running Company and Sol Angel, the holiday festivities expanded from last year.. The festivities kicked off at 3:30 p.m. with a Jingle Jog through the streets of Collegeville and the Perkiomen trail. A Holiday Bazaar was hold at the same time next to DaVinci's pub, offering residents unique gift options and food. Council Reviews Upcoming Plans for Collegeville Borough

The jingle bells are ringing already here in Collegeville and October has just begun. Council members laughed their way through another meeting as the planning for the season commenced. Tree lighting has been scheduled for Dec. 3, but that is not all Collegeville Borough residents have in their futures. This year will mark the community’s first “Jingle Jog,” a 5K run through the streets of Collegeville that will bring all runners back to the new Perkiomen Trail parking lot at 3rd and Main streets. With their new jingle-bell-equipped Livestrong bracelets, runners will reign in the spirit of the season as they cross the finish line. If running is not for you, do not worry at all!
