Update: Raheem Smith-Little, of Upper Providence, has been charged with rape of a child and related offenses after allegedly assaulting a 12-year-old boy in a bedroom that the two shared, according to the Pottstown Mercury. According to police, the child's mother attempted to enter his bedroom Jan. 13 around 2 a.m. to find that the door was locked, breaking a rule in the house that no doors are to be locked in the house. Smith-Little, 20, allegedly opened the door and said that he didn't lock it; shortly thereafter, the boy went to his mother's room "shaking and crying," saying that he was assaulted, according to police. DUI on North Whitehall Road Nicholas A. DeCarlo, a 22-year-old Norristown resident, was arrested for DUI on June 30, according to a report by the Pennsylvania State Police. The report states that DeCarlo was traveling southbound on North Whitehall Road in his 2003 Chevrolet Malibu. Collegeville Police Officer Andrew Sohl responded to a report of a suspicious male at Wawa. The shift manager called police after approaching a man who who had been walking around the store "holding something under his sleeve," the report states. The man reportedly became argumentative. He had left the store by the time Sohl and Officer Cubbler arrived, so they began to check the area. Around 2 a.m., Sohl saw a man dressed in black clothes and a black knit hat exiting from the front yard of 23 E. Fourth Ave., the report states. An unknown person (or people) stole copper pipes from the Perkiomen Bridge Hotel. A Collegeville police officer made this discovery while on patrol Saturday, Feb. 25. According to a report by Officer Andrew Sohl, he noticed the rear loading dock door, leading to the old hotel’s kitchen, was open. Upon inspecting the property’s second floor, Sohl “observed that the baseboard covers were removed and the copper piping used inside the baseboards were removed.” A further check of the second floor revealed that “all the baseboard covers were removed and all copper was stolen,” Sohl wrote. Police are investigating a break-in at Moccia’s Train Stop that occurred around 2 a.m. Feb. 16. Nothing was stolen, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. The burglar (or burglars) unsuccessfully attempted to pry open the back door, and then used an unknown object to smash a window in the southeast corner of the building, police said. The unknown person (or people) then entered the Gravel Pike business. An alarm was activated, and the burglar(s) fled through the broken window. Troopers at the scene lifted partial shoe prints off the broken glass, according to correspondence from Pennsylvania State Police, and there was “a powdery mark just inside the window on a boot that looked as if it might have been left by latex gloves.” Anyone …

According to a police report, a shoulder bag containing makeup was taken from a vehicle while it was parked in the 300 block of Bridge Road, Skippack, sometime between 6:30 p.m. Feb. 16 and 8 a.m. Feb. 17. Collegeville Woman Loses Control of Car, Hits Tree A Collegeville woman suffered minor injuries after the car she was driving hit a tree, Sunday, Feb. 12. Gatrina Nolan, 19, was driving north on Kagey Road, approaching the intersection of Forge Road, in Perkiomen Township. Nolan lost control of the 1993 Volvo 900 she was driving, traveling to the left side of the road and striking a tree. The car suffered heavy front-end damage, and Jack Nolan Exxon Towing took the car from the scene. Nolan will not be cited in connection with the crash. Pennsylvania State Police are asking for information regarding two residential burglaries that occurred in the 100 block of Crystal Drive, Lower Frederick, within the last two weeks. According to police reports, one residence was forcibly entered sometime between 7:30 p.m. Feb. 9 and 11:59 p.m. Feb. 10. An unknown person (or people) took several items; the burglar(s) then fled in an unknown direction. The incident number is K03-1832221.
