Lower Frederick Passes Budget with No Municipal Tax Increase

Budget includes extra revenue from the newly initiated Local Service Tax and increased sewer rates

  The Lower Frederick Township Board of Supervisors unanimously passed the 2013 budget with no municipal tax increase at its December meeting. The township’s millage will remain at 1.85, including .2 mils going towards Lower Frederick Ambulance, .27 mils to the Lower Frederick Fire Company, and .065 for fire hydrant services. The new budget includes a new local services tax, which was passed at the board’s October meeting. The new tax requires individuals working in the township of Lower Frederick to pay $1 per week, or $52 per year, to the township. The budget also includes increased revenue from increase in sewer rental rates. The rate for all properties that utilize the public sewer will raise from $85 to $91 per quarter. “You won’t see…
