Garden at Greenwald Flower Tent Finding Success in Collegeville

In a response seasonal flower tents popping up in parking lots, one Collegeville florist created her own in support of year-round, local business.

  Jenny Greenwald of Greenwald Plant and Flower Workshop opened The Garden at Greenwald, a flower tent outside of her Main Street business, earlier this month to offer a “home-grown alternative to the flower tent guy” – and she has found much success. “The response to the Garden at Greenwald tent has been amazing,” Greenwald, who operates both businesses out of 360 Main Street, said.  “We have had to restock on our amazing locally grown hanging baskets 3 times already!" Greenwald said that customers are also enjoying the herbs and vegetable plants, and she plans to plant a vegetable garden on Main Street. Gallery: Collegeville Holiday House Tour

Eight area homes were opened to the public on Dec. 15 as part of the first-ever Collegeville Holiday House Tour.

Over 300 residents toured eight homes in the Collegeville area on the afternoon of Dec. 15, followed by a reception at the Appalachian Brewing Company in Collegeville Station, sponsored by the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) and Jenny Greenwald of the Greenwald Flower and Plant Workshop. The Claymont Drive home of Jack and Rebecca Allred was titled "The Lilly Pulitzer-Inspired 'Colorful House'," and it did not disappoint - every room was a different vibrant color. The Allreds met after being set up by a mutual friend who worked at Lilly Pullitzer, and their love for color is reflected in their home.
