Many categories of tickets are sold out, but there are still some available if you want to see great golfers competing in your neighborhood.
When tickets for the 2013 U.S. Open, to be held at Merion Golf Club, went on sale in June, many categories quickly sold out. “Due to space constraints, only 25,000 spectator tickets will be sold, which is significantly fewer tickets than a typical U.S. Open,” the ticketing website reads. Tickets for Friday, Saturday and Sunday are completely sold out, according to the ticketing site, as are passes for the entire week. But, there are still tickets available for the June 10 to 16 event. Monday through Wednesday are practice rounds with the tournament running Thursday through Sunday. Some new faces are leading the way as the Vikings embark on their journey through the rigors of the Pioneer Athletic Conference, en route to a hopeful playoff berth and district bid. Having seen All-PAC-10 players Andrew Kenney and Austin Mann graduate during the summer, the starting eight varsity players that took to the links at Raven Claw Gold Club on Thursday know they have some very big shoes to fill. “There is no way you can replace what Andrew and Austin meant to this team,” said Vikings Head Coach Doug Simonds, who is in his 20th year. “They were such special kids on and off the course, along with our other seniors.
