Several fire companies responded to the scene, according to reports.
Some Wegmans customers had to cut their shopping trips short on Wednesday after a small kitchen fire caused the building to be evacuated just before noon, according to reports. An eyewitness said several fire companies, including the Black Rock Fire Co., responded to the scene in Providence Town Center.

Local fire crews assist on Monday afternoon fire.
Several area crews were called into a fire on Monday afternoon that started in a first-floor wall of a Lower Salford home. Harleysville Fire Chief Todd Burns told Montgomery Media that the fire was inside a first-story wall and inside the floor between the basement and first floor. Companies that assisted included Harleysville, Skippack, Towamencin, Upper Salford, Souderton, Perkiomen and Lower Frederick companies. Medical units from Harleysville Area EMS and Skippack EMS also reported to the scene. No injuries were reported, and the cause is still under investigation. Fire investigators remained at the scene Saturday night. Employees evacuating the building believed the fire began in the building's furnace.
A fire destroyed the Valley Forge Beef & Ale restaurant on Trooper Road in Audubon on Saturday. The 18 customers and five employees in the restaurant at the time the fire started early Saturday afternoon reported hearing an explosion in the basement that "made the first floor rock," according to a statement sent to the media by Lower Providence Township on Saturday night. The fire started in the back bedroom of a Hoppenville Road home just after noon on Wednesday.
Police, EMS and firefighters responded to the 5400 block of Hoppenville Road in Green Lane, Marlborough Township, shortly before 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday for a report of a building fire. According to a Red Hill Fire Police official, the blaze started in a back bedroom. "The back part of the house, there's nothing left," the official said. On the scene, responders found the home engulfed in smoke. The family living in the home were evacuated while firefighters battled the blaze, which consumed the building. No one was reported injured, but some family pets were not accounted for Wednesday afternoon. A fire reportedly destroyed a dump truck on Skippack Pike near the intersection of Cross Road on Tuesday morning. WPVI-TV reported that the driver escaped safely from the truck and that nobody was hurt. The location is close to the construction entrance for ongoing work at the State Correctional Institution at Graterford, but it wasn't clear whether the truck was involved with that work.

Officials have planned a gala "Night for Brad" at Elmwood Park Zoo this Friday, Nov. 2.
Norristown Police and Fire department and several community members have banded together to organize a "Night for Brad," gala community fundraiser honoring fallen Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox who was killed in the line of duty on Sept. 13, on the eve of his 35th birthday. The fundraiser is planned for this Friday, Nov. 2 from 5 to 10 p.m. at Elmwood Park Zoo. Tickets are still available for $20 in advance and will be available for $30 at the door. The evening will include live entertainment from Wildflower, raffle baskets and a silent auction and plenty of food including roast beef, pasta, potato salad, cole slaw and beer, compliments of Gretz Beverage. Multiple victims have reportedly been rescued from a three-alarm fire that was burning through the top story of a condominium complex in the Wyncote section of Cheltenham Township on Friday night. House unoccupied; Owners said to be in the process of moving out of the area
A late night fire on Wednesday heavily damaged an Eagleville home. Lower Providence Deputy Fire Marshal Ron Kenwood said the fire in the unoccupied house on Sky Drive, which was dispatched shortly before 11:30 p.m. on Wednesday, had been knocked down by about 12:15 a.m. on Thursday. Firefighters were continuing to check for extension of the fire into the walls of the structure, Kenwood said. Heavy smoke poured out of the center of the house's main facade, above the entry door, where firefighters smashed windows in order to allow a firehose's water stream to reach the interior. A pre-dawn fire that destroyed a detached 3-car garage in Skippack forced the closure of Route 113 while crews extinguished the fire, the Lansdale Reporter reports. The garage at the property on the 1100 block of Bridge Road was fully involved when fire crews arrived at the scene, according to PhillyFireNews.com. A classic car and other vehicles were reportedly destroyed in the fire, which not did not affect the residence on the property. The blaze is not believed to have been suspicious.
