Weekend Sobriety Checkpoint Nets Pair of Arrests
A man from Royersford and a man from Philadelphia are facing DUI charges after entering a previously announced sobriety checkpoint.
A weekend sobriety checkpoint conducted by the Pennsylvania State Police and the New Hanover Police Department has lead to the arrest or two men on suspicion of DUI. The checkpoint, which was located near the intersection of Swamp Pike and Route 663 in New Hanover Township, had previously been announced by the state police, though the exact location was not revealed in their original press release. According to the police report, 23-year-old Spencer Ecker, of Philadelphia, was stopped at the checkpoint at approximately 12:50 a.m. on Saturday, August 4.
