Cups N Cakes Celebrates One Year in Collegeville Station [PHOTOS]

The bakery, which offers custom cakes, cupcakes and cookies, is a successful side project for owner Aprille Cole.

  If you take one step into Cups N Cakes in Collegeville Station, which celebrated its one-year anniversary at its new location on Dec. 17, you get a feeling of the owner’s appreciation for art – from the bright blue walls, to the large photos throughout the store, to the perfectly hand-painted and sculpted cakes. A feeling you wouldn't get, particularly after tasting the baked goods and getting a glimpse of the gourmet cupcake menu, that owner Aprille Cole holds a full-time job as a national director for a large leasing corporation, and this is a side project for her. “This is the complete opposite of my stressful job,” Cole said.  “This gives me a chance to make people happy, see them smile, create a piece of edible art. Thank you Kara. So many of us who know the true story behind this shop would agree. Claudia built this business with her money, her team (also no longer employed), her family recipes, and her creativity. Aprille may claim a different story but ask around. The Desire to Dance Expands Collegeville Studio [PHOTOS]

The Dance Depot of Collegeville Station has expanded by adding 2,800-square-feet of studio space.

The Dance Depot celebrated its recent expansion into an 8,000-square-foot dance studio on Saturday afternoon at its residence in Collegeville Station on West Third Street.  The celebration kicked off on the newly renovated second floor with a ceremonial ribbon cutting in the entranceway of the new studio space. Dancers, instructors, and audience members then filed onto the floor of the roomy new dance studio, all pinning themselves to the outskirts of the room in anticipation of the upcoming performances. Voices were silent and expressions were fixed in awe as members of the dance studio illustrated the choreography in four performances of varying genres of dance.
