The Collegeville Business Networking Group is holding a social at the Collegeville Italian Bakery
The Collegeville Business Networking Group (CNBG) is holding business card exchange and social at the Collegeville Italian Bakery from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. on March 6, and everyone is invited. The free event is open to the public, and will be held at the newly renovated bakery, which just opened up a large dining room expansion in January. The CBNG, which meets ever Monday morning at the Collegeville Diner, costs $10 per meeting, and selected CBNG members get ten minutes to speak to the crowd; all other attendees get a 30 minute commercial. The Collegeville Italian Bakery owners are making the most of the eatery's recent dining area expansion by holding their Family Style Italian Dinner on Feb. 9 from 5:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. For $29.99 per person, guests will be served an antipasta platter, Italian wedding soup, caesar salad, penne a la rose, chicken cutlets, sautéed spinach, roasted potatoes, and a slice of Italian rum cake or ricotta cannoli for dessert. Coffee, tea, soda and table bread is included in the price. Guests are permitted to bring their own alcoholic beverages. The restaurant is now accepting reservations for the dinner. Officials were on hand to cut the ribbon - and an over-sized loaf of bread - on Friday afternoon.
Local officials joined Collegeville Italian Bakery staff and customers to celebrate the new dining room addition, which will now let fans of the bustling deli enjoy their sandwiches on site. Co-owners Patrizia and Steve Carcarey, a husband-and-wife team, started working to expand the deli in September, after Enterprise Rent-A-Car, formerly in the dining room space, moved across the Perkiomen Bridge into Collegeville. “From the painters, to the tile, to the contractors – Patrizia and I appreciate everybody’s help to make our dream happen,” said Steve Carcarey, addressing the crowd. A surge of community support has risen in the wake of Plymouth Township Police Officer Bradley Fox’s death. Among those in the business community wanting to help Fox’s family is the Collegeville Italian Bakery, located along Ridge Pike in Collegeville. The bakery’s co-owners and husband and wife-team, Patrizia and Steve Carcarey, will auction off two EMC Suite Level tickets to the Friday, Sept. 21 Philadelphia Phillies vs. Atlanta Braves game at Citizens Bank Park.
