The G-Riders charitable cycling team kicked off their 2013 fundraising campaign at Penguin's Pub on Saturday night.
The G-Riders charitable cycling team kicked off their 2013 fundraising season with a boom on Saturday night, hosting their annual "Cheers Charity" event at Penguin's Pub in Warminster. All benefits from the fundraiser are donated to various local and national charities, including the Irish Pub Daniel Faulkner Fund, the National Multiple Sclerosis Foundation, the Indian Creek Foundation and the American Diabetes Foundation. To date, the team has raised over $70,000 for their respective charities. As a result of winning the national honor, an additional $25,000 will be donated to Mission Kids, courtesy of L'Oreal Paris.
L'Oreal Paris has announced via Twitter that Montgomery County District Attorney Risa Ferman has been named the 2012 Women of Worth National Honoree for her work as co-founder of Mission Kids Child Advocacy Center. Ferman was one of 10 honorees from across the country vying for the national honor, which came as a result of a voting process from November 5 through November 21. As a result of winning the national honor, an additional $25,000 will be donated to Mission Kids, courtesy of L'Oreal Paris. Patch congratulates DA Ferman on receiving such an honor! A real-life Santa Claus has taken the initiative to help a pair of struggling Montco families
A pair of struggling Montco families will soon find themselves on the receiving end of a Christmas miracle, thanks to the efforts of 38-year-old Dutch Schrap, of East Coventry, who has decided to take his professional Santa routine to the next level. The son of the elder Santa Schrap, Dutch has followed in his father's snow-covered footsteps for the past 21 years. He's made appearances everywhere from the Lansdale Mardi Gras Parade to gigs with the Philadelphia Flyers and Sixers, and he's even rung the opening bell at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange. This year, however, he's looking to expand on his role by initiating Operation Nine Reindeer, which seeks to aid two families who are in desperate need of support. It all began on October 1, …

The benefit will be held on June 3 at the Blue Comet Motorcycle Club in Skippack, with all proceeds going to the American Gold Star Mothers and Families.
A consortium of 18 local motorcycle clubs called the Inter-Club will host a fundraiser at the Blue Comet headquarters in Skippack on June 3 from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m., with all proceeds going to the Pennsylvania chapter of the American Gold Star Mothers and Families. "We feel it is very important to support the Gold Star Mothers because they have given the most for the freedom we enjoy every day -- their child," said Terri Jones, from the Riders for the Son. The 6th-Annual benefit will feature food and music, a ceremony featuring PA State Senator John Rafferty, PA State Rep. The following was submitted to Perkiomen Valley Patch: Local photographer Mandy Keep of Collegeville is quickly building a name for herself with some very unique photographic projects. Just this past summer Keep organized “Peace Baby,” a photo shoot in which 38 infants were arranged in the symbol of a peace sign as a symbolic reminder of why we should aim for peace in the world. Now she’s at it again with a photographic project scheduled for Saturday, Jan. 21.
