Careless Driving Caused 3-Car Trappe Crash, Police Say

  A Lansdale man was cited for careless driving after a three-car crash on Third Avenue in Trappe around 8:40 a.m. on April 11, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Shawn Burns, 44, of Lansdale, allegedly caused the crash when he “took his attention off the road” while driving his Lexus on Third Avenue in Trappe and struck a Chrysler 300, Driven by Winston Small, of Pottstown, who was waiting behind Catherine Meeley, in a Ford Freestar, who was waiting to make a left onto College Avenue with a six-year-old passenger. Small’s vehicle went up onto the embankment of the right lane when trying to avoid Meeley’s vehicle; both Small and Meeley’s vehicles required towing from the scene, police said. Boyertown Man Cited in Crash that Injured Collegeville Woman

The accident occurred on Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township.

  A Boyertown man has been cited for careless driving after he allegedly crashed into a vehicle driven by a Collegeville woman, according to the Pennsylvania State Police. Gary Lee Urmy, of Boyertown, was traveling south on Gravel Pike in Perkiomen Township in a 2006 Ford F150 on Jan. 29 around 1 p.m., when Betty J. Hipple, of Collegeville, was waiting to make a left turn in the southbound land in her 2007 Honda Ridgeline, according to police. Urmy, 50, failed to stop, police said, which caused his vehicle to crash into Hipple’s at the 500 block of Gravel Pike. Both vehicles were damaged and Hipple was injured, according to police. Saturday Morning Crash On 113 Sends Four To Hospital

The crash resulted in an extended extrication operation to rescue three trapped females.

A three-car accident along Route 113 sent four people to the hospital on Saturday morning, after two of the vehicles were forced into a head-on collision by the third. According to the Pennsylvania State Police, a 2009 Toyota Camry, driven by 32-year-old Michael Knoke, of Collegeville, was traveling northbound on Route 113 when it came to a stop at the intersection of Bridge Road and Iron Bridge Drive in Perkiomen Township. Upon coming to a complete stop, the Toyota was rear-ended by a 1997 Mitsubishi Galant, which was driven by 23-year-old Michael Donovan, of Pottstown. The force of the impact pushed the Toyota into the southbound lane of Bridge Road, where the Toyota struck an on-coming Hyundai Tuscon driven by 65-year-old Margaret …
