Watershed Conservancy Offering Free Rain Barrels for Schwenksville Residents
All area residents are invited to attend a talk on protecting water quality in Schwenksville Meadow Park on Saturday.
The Perkiomen Watershed Conservancy is holding a talk on protecting water quality through rain gardens and barrels on Saturday, complete with rain barrels for some participants.
The event will occur at Schwenksville Meadow Park; sign-in begins at 9:30 a.m., the talk and a tour of Schwenksville’s new gardens will run from 10-11 a.m.
Thanks to a Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) grant awarded to Schwenksville Borough, the first 35 residents to register will receive a free 40-gallon rain barrel.

Residents from other municipalities will be put on a waiting list for leftover barrels; residents from surrounding communities are encouraged to attend the talk.
