Dining Event, Blood Drive Coming Up This Week

Take a look at events in the Perkiomen Valley this week, including municipal meetings, concerts, and a cub scout recruitment event.

A Schwenksville Club Scout Pack 105 Recruiting Event will be held on Monday at 6:30 p.m. If you ever wondered “Are you Tougher Than a Cub Scout?” find out at the Rita’s of Zieglerville.

Beginning at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, the Perkiomen Valley Library will host a Red Cross Blood Drive. You can make an appointment at www.redcroosblood.org - appointments are highly recommended.

On Tuesday at 7:30 p.m., the Community Club of Collegeville will hold its seasonal kickoff meeting at Augustus Lutheran Church. The guest speaker will be Montgomery County Dairy Princess Erin Wismer.

On Wednesday, the Skippack Township Board of Supervisors will hold its first meeting since former board chairman Mary Beth LaBelle tendered her resignation. The meeting will be held at 7:30 p.m. at 4089 Heckler Road in Skippack.

On Thursday at 6 p.m., residents are invited to enjoy a variety of area fare the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation’s ‘Farmer and the Chef’ fundraiser at the Copperfield Inn at Lakeside.  Guests will enjoy tastes from many of “the area’s most sought-after restaurants” and an open bar for a cost of $45 — funds will go towards the Collegeville Farmers Market.

Also on the municipal scene, Schwenksville Borough Council will have its monthly meeting beginning at 7 p.m. on Thursday at borough hall on Main Street.

Ursinus College will present two saxophone events this week on Thursday and Sunday.  George Wolfe and James Helton will be featured  Thursday at 7:30 p.m., presenting saxophone and piano music inspired by world cultures. On Sunday, the Junction Saxophone Quartet, comprised of Todd Goranson, Amanda Heim, Holly Hubbs, and Samuel Lorber, will perform at 4 p.m.
