Local Sites for For Summer Free and Reduced Lunch

85 percent of children on the free and reduced lunch program during the school year don't take advantage of it during the summer.

In Pennsylvania, approximately 702,000  children are eligible for the free or reduced lunch program during the school year, according to a press release from US Senator for Pennsylvania, Bob Casey.

However, nearly 85 percent of those children do not take advantage of the program during the summer months.

The Summer Food Service Program is "a federal nutrition program jointly run by the US Department of Agriculture and the Pennsylvania Department of Education" and has hundreds of site across the state.
