Spring-Ford Squashes Perk Valley’s Winning Streak Friday

The Spring-Ford Rams contained Perk Valley's offense in the early-season PAC-10 football showdown.

Perkiomen Valley Vikings ended their early-season winning streak with a 14-7 loss on Friday to the Spring-Ford Rams in Royersford.

The low-scoring win for Spring-Ford is owned largely to the team’s defense, who contained Perk Valley’s offense that helped to dominate both Plymouth-Whitemarsh and Methacton so far this season.

The Rams had a rough loss against Whitehall to start the season, but came back with a strong showing against South Philadelphia at home, followed by this win.

“We gave 120 percent, maybe more,” said Spring-Ford cornerback Joe Bush, according to the Pottstown Mercury. “We played our hearts out.”

Perk Valley will take on Owen J. Roberts on Friday at home; Spring-Ford will travel to Boyertown for a game.
