Perkiomen Valley Vikings Football is flying high after a
33-0 win against Plymouth Whitemarsh Colonials on last Friday, and will face
Methacton this Friday.
The Colonials, who went 9-2 last season and won the Suburban One League American Conference Title with a 7-0 record, couldn’t get pass the Vikings in the season opener in Whitemarsh.
"From the coaches down to the players I thought we executed pretty well,' said Perk Valley coach Scott Reed, according to gametimepa.com. "Our defense obviously did a good job from keep them out of the endzone.'
Senior quarterback Rasaan Stewart “dazzled with the ball in his hands,” according to the Philadelphia Inquirer, completing 7 of 10 passes for 94 yards and three touchdowns.
This Friday, the Vikings face the Methacton Warriors at home at 7 p.m.
The Warriors, who finished 5-4 in league play and 6-4 overall last year, had a winning streak towards the end, and coach Paul Lepre hopes to continue that into this season, according to the Reporter.
The streak didn’t continue into Methacton’s Aug. 31 game against Bayard Rustin High School in West Chester, when they lost 14-6.
