PVHS Key Club Holds 'Dessert-Off' Competition

The student group raised almost $200 for the America Cancer Society.

Perkiomen Valley High School Key Club students raised nearly $200 for the American Cancer Society through a Dessert-Off contest held Dec. 13 in the cafeteria of the high school.

Students, faculty and staff were invited to get creative in the kitchen and bring in their desserts for people to sample. Those who sampled paid $3 for unlimited tastings and then were allowed to vote on the dessert they thought was best.

Proceeds from the event will support the Key Club in its annual participation the Pottstown Relay for Life event. Relay for Life benefits the American Cancer Society.

The Key Club also collected gifts for needy children through an Angel Tree, and delivered the presents to Manna on Main Street in Lansdale.
