PVMS West Students Participate in Regional Chorus Festival

Seven boys were selected to participate in Vocal Thunder, a young men's chorus festival.

The following is a press release from the Perkiomen Valley School District:

Seven Perkiomen Valley Middle School West boys were selected to participate in Vocal Thunder, a young men’s chorus festival, hosted by the Pennsbury High School and the American Choral Conductors Association of Pennsylvania on Nov. 16.

Aaron Edwards, Ryan Shayer, Kevin Delacruz, Carson Parke, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Tanner Wildasin, and Brandon Snyder had an enriching experience singing alongside 157 young men from the area.

The festival conductor was Dr. Amanda Quist, an associate professor of conducting from Westminster Choir College of Rider University.

Prior to the festival, the seven boys rehearsed with Mr. Matthew Valent before and after school.  On festival day they came together with students from several area schools.  The workshop entailed rigorous rehearsals during the day as well as a performance for parents and the general public.
