Editor's note: the following post is a press release submitted by Jessica Lester, of the Perkiomen Valley School District.
COLLEGEVILLE – Incoming Perkiomen Valley High School freshmen will have a chance to meet mentors and walk through their schedules the day before school begins as part of Freshmen Orientation Day on Tuesday, Aug. 28.
To help ease the anxiety that comes with making the transition from middle school to high school, Perkiomen Valley High School is inviting all incoming freshmen to attend the day, which will begin at 7:45 a.m. in the cafeteria, which is located off the bus loop entrance. Parents of freshmen are also invited to participate for a portion of the day by attending a question-and-answer session with high school guidance counselors from 8 to 9 a.m.
Students who attend are being asked to dress comfortably and to bring a packed lunch. The day will end at 1 p.m. Parents may either pick their children up or students can take the bus home. RSVP forms are available on the school district website at www.pvsd.org.
Perkiomen Valley High School is located at 509 Gravel Pike in Collegeville.
