Perkiomen Valley Vikings go on to win Friday's homecoming game against Upper Perkiomen 47-14.

Perkiomen Valley High School students and staff celebrated homecoming on Oct. 19 with music, contests and a lot of cheering.

Students, separated by year into color-coded sections of brown, orange, white and black in the PVHS gym watched performances from the band and color guard and cheered on contests, ranging from hula hooping to pie eating.

Teachers and students competed in tug-of-war (students won), Freshmen were named the "most spirited (seniors weren't happy), and athletes were introduced to the crowd.

The spirit - filled event seems to have done the trick - the Vikings beat the Upper Perkiomen Indians 47-14 at the homecoming football game later that night.

The PVHS football team now boast a 7-1 record, and will play undefeated  Pottsgrove on Oct. 26.

It sure is nice to know that Pep Rallies still exist. They are important part of showing school spirit and making kids show how proud they are to be a Viking!!!! Keep it up PV!!!
