PV Vikings Had a Record-Breaking Season Without Playoffs

While back-to-back losses to Pottsgrove and Spring-Ford prevented the Perkiomen Valley Vikings from making the Pioneer Athletic Conference playoffs, the football team still has a lot to be proud of this season.

"Pottsgrove is a really, really good football team, and so is Spring-Ford," PVHS head coach Scott Reed told The Mercury. "Our kids never quit in either game. They played their hearts out."

The Mercury's Don Seeley pointed out a number of other achievements for the team over the past season:

Vikings won their first seven games for the very first time, and fell only one game shy of their school-record eight-game winning streak from 2007.

The Vikings put up the second-most points of any Perkiomen Valley Team, just 23 less than the 2007 team's number.

The team set a new single-season PAC-10 total yard record with 3,810.

Inidividual Player Highlights:

Wideout Clay Domine broke the team single-season records for yards and receptions.

Quarterback Rasaan Stewart was the fourth Viking QB to throw for more than 1,000 yards during the season,  the fifth player to run for more than 1,000 yards in a season - and he was the first player in PAC-10history to do both.
