Cross Country: Battle of the High Schools

Methacton and Spring-Ford High School took to the fields running today at Pope John Paul High School.

Three different uniforms could be seen today from Township Line Road running on PJPII's fields. That's because PJPII's cross country team battled it out Wednesday against Methacton and Spring-Ford Area High School.

Consisting of approximately five kilometers, which equals approximately three miles, the boys and girls ran on grass, dirt and track in today's meet.

Up first was the varsity boys, and as they rounded the last yellow cone of the course and made their way onto the track for their final lap, Spring-Ford's Joe O'Such and Jesse Magolon held the first and second place spots, respectively. As they crossed the finish line, O'Such had a time of 17 minutes and 32 seconds, and Magolon had a time of 17 minutes and 34 seconds. The first male to place for PJPII was Mike Bryson, with a time of 18 minutes and 34 seconds. The final scores were in, and PJP won against Methacton, 15 to 48. PJPII lost against SFHS 41 to 18, and Methacton won against SFHS 25 to 36.
