Support our Farmers' Market While Savoring Delectable Signature Dishes From Over 20 of our Area's Finest Restaurants By Attending our "Farmer and the Chef" Event!

The chefs of the area's most sought-after restaurants will be teaming up with the Collegeville Famers’ Market on Thursday, September 12 in the Ballroom at Copperfield’s Restaurant in Limerick to provide an evening of amazing cuisine using fresh, locally grown products from the market in their signature dishes. This tastings dinner is scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m., and features a leisurely evening of appetizers, main courses and desserts paired with fine wines and artisan beers along with live music..

“Farmer and the Chef” is a fundraiser for the Collegeville Farmers’ Market and the CEDC, which picks up the cost of running the market beyond the vendors’ stall fees.  “We opened the Collegeville Farmers’ Market in 2011 in response to our survey of Collegeville area residents who overwhelmingly requested that we operate a market in Collegeville offering farm fresh local and artisan products,” said CEDC’s President, Cathy Kernen. “Although we are fortunate to have a group of loyal volunteers who help us set up, run and break down the market each week, the cost of our signage, equipment, and part-time manager Jane Kim exceeds the money we take in from our fees.

“Individuals who attend our ‘Farmer and the Chef’ fundraiser will not only enjoy a memorable evening of great food, wines and artisan beers, but their participation will also be instrumental in offsetting the cost of the market—and for that we are so grateful!  The market’s goal is to continue to provide great local products to our community while being self-sustaining.”
