Farmer and the Chef is a fundraiser for the Collegeville Farmers’ Market and the CEDC, which picks up the cost of running the market beyond the vendors’ stall fees.  “We opened the Collegeville Farmers’ Market in 2011 in response to our survey of Collegeville area residents who overwhelmingly requested that we operate a market in Collegeville offering farm fresh local and artisan products,” said CEDC’s President, Cathy Kernen. “Although we are fortunate to have a group of loyal volunteers who help us set up, run and break down the market each week, the cost of our signage, equipment, and part-time manager Jane Kim exceeds the money we take in from our fees.

“Individuals who attend our Farmer & the Chef fundraiser will not only enjoy a memorable evening of great food, wines and artisan beers, but their participation will also be instrumental in offsetting the cost of the market—and for that we are so grateful! The market’s goal is to continue to provide great local products to our community while being self-sustaining.”
