New CEDC “Inside Out” Program to Focus the Spotlight on Main Street Nutrition This Friday

This Friday, Aug. 2, is the premiere of a new event to give more exposure to Collegeville businesses—literally.

Called “Inside Out,” on the first Friday of every month this summer, businesses that are members of the Collegeville Economic Development Corporation (CEDC) have the opportunity to move their business from inside their shops between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m. to a platform that will be erected outside in a parking space along Collegeville’s Main St.  So instead of conducting their business in front of a few people, businesses have the opportunity for their products or services to be on view to the 14,000 people who travel Main Street each day.

The first business to flaunt their fame in the sunshine of Main Street is Tim McGlone and Tara McNulty of Main Street Nutrition.  Located at 358 Main St. in Collegeville, the Center provides a fun atmosphere focused on providing nutritious drinks and supplements and educating patrons on nutrition.  Characterized as a “bar for the health conscious” the Center serves up delicious teas and smoothies instead of shots and beers.

In addition to the beverages, Main Street Nutrition offers fit challenges every six weeks in which members meet ever Monday, Wednesday and Saturday to track fitness goals and learn more about nutrition.

“The goal is that customers can have lifelong information on being healthy,” Tim says.

Main Street Nutrition will be serving up nutritious drinks al fresco from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. and again from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.  Area residents are cordially invited to stop by and try a sample in the outdoor café atmosphere, meet Tim and Tara, and learn more about health programs.

“The ‘Inside Out’ program is a great way for businesses to showcase their products and services to literally thousands of area residents,” says Rachael Morrison, Executive Director of the CEDC.  “We create a stage which puts both the businesses and customers on display, and in a small town, where so many people know each other, it creates a fun atmosphere for those participating and those passing by.”
