Collegeville's Farmer & the Chef - Tasting Dinner

The chefs of the area's most sought-after restaurants will be teaming up with the Collegeville Famers’ Market on Thursday, September 12 to provide an evening of amazing cuisine using fresh, locally grown products from the market in their signature dishes. The event, which is scheduled from 6 to 9:30 p.m., features a leisurely evening of appetizers, main courses and desserts paired with fine wines and artisan beers along with live music at Copperfield Inn at Lakeside in Limerick.

The cost of the event is $45 per person, and includes unlimited fine food, wine and beer. There will also be a silent auction.

Participating restaurants include Bay Pony Inn, offering a blend of American and international culinary taste sensations; Seasons 52, with each item on its innovative seasonally-inspired menu under 450 calories; Gracie’s Pine Forge 21st Century Café, providing fresh, natural gourmet dining with a hint of decadence; Marly’s BYO of Phoenixville, offering upscale American Continental eclectic selections containing original combinations that you won’t find elsewhere;

Chadwick’s Restaurant will be offering superbly prepared classic American fare; Freeland Market from the Collegeville Farmers’ Market, will have selections its own old world sausages, smoked meats, and European inspired pâtés; DaVinci’s Pub is preparing their Italian Chef’s specialties; Copperfield Inn will be serving selections from its eclectic menu of innovative American regional fare; Rocco’s Brick Oven Pizzeria will be offering samplings of their scrumptious Italian cuisine; Max and Erma’s will be offering good old American favorites from its menu of award-winning gourmet burgers, delicious sandwiches and treats, and Trattoria Italiana Ristorante will prepare specialties that showcase the rich culinary heritage of the Gentile family of Italian Chefs.

To spice the evening, guests can experience exciting new tastes from Shagun Fine Indian Cuisine, which just opened in the Collegeville Shopping Center and features delectable dishes from northern India; Thai Basil Bistro of Collegeville, whose selections reflect influences from all geographical regions of Thailand; Tortugas Mexican Eatery, which will be offering tastes of the best of Mexico;  and our own Collegeville Zagat-rated Bonjung Japanese Restaurant, offering both Japanese and Korean award-winning dishes.

Among the desserts of the evening will be homemade ICED by Betsy Gourmet Cupcakes, Deborah Streeter-Davitt’s MacDougall’s Irish Victory Cakes and Jenny & Frank’s authentic Italian gelato from the Collegeville Farmers’ Market, and Season’s 52’s famous “Mini-Indulgences.”
