Almost sold out of Ducks for Collegeville's Rubber Ducky Regatta !!

Rubber ducks are preparing to invade Collegeville at the first-ever Rubber Ducky Regatta to be held on the Perkiomen Creek May 4th!

The event provides a water-themed fun for the entire family!

Join us from 1 to 5 p.m. Saturday May 4th at the Perkiomen Bridge Hotel parking lot to celebrate everything we love about the Perkiomen Creek in a fun competition pitting each person’s rubber ducky against your neighbors’ and friends’ ducks as they race (or rather slowly float) toward the finish line at the Perkiomen Creek Bridge.

Ducks are $5 each and the souvenir duck you buy is yours to keep.  Each time an individual buys a duck, they will be given a number, which is the number of their corresponding race duck which will navigate the Perky.   The race will begin up the river from the Perkiomen Bridge Hotel and will end at the Perkiomen Creek Bridge.  The race will begin at 2 p.m.; winners will be announced at 2:30 p.m.  You don’t need to be present to win.

It’s fun for the whole family, and once you have entered the race, you are eligible to compete for wonderful prizes.  Top prizes will be awarded for the first 30 winning ducks, which are donated by local businesses.  They range from gift certificates to our grand prize of $250 Visa Card for the fastest duck on the Perky.

In addition to the duck race, the Rubber Ducky Regatta features a tasty line-up of great eats from local chefs, including Phamous Phil’s BBQ and a Pig Roast.   And for kids, there are plenty of water- fish- and duck-themed games, contests and prizes in our Kid’s Area.

Also of high interest is the restoration of the Perkiomen Bridge Hotel.  Tom Crawford, the new owner, will be on hand to discuss his plans to bring the hotel back to life.

The Collegeville Fire Company, which is in charge of rescues on the creek, will also be there with their emergency vehicles and boat.
