Ways to nourish your Body, Mind, and Spirit

As we continue to grow and learn about ourselves every day, we start to become aware of our habitual actions. This awareness sometimes reveals to us that the choices we make on a daily basis do not nourish us in body, mind, and spirit like they could. This insight is very telling! It gives us the opportunity to make a new choice, to change our lifestyles so that more of our choices can nourish us and lead us into healthier and more fulfilling lives.

The body is nourished primarily through food and physical contact (exercise, massage, energy healing, etc). Here are some simple choices for you to make every day that will help nourish your body and leave you feeling uplifted and healthy:

1. Eat foods that are fresh and easily digestible.
2. Explore what it’s like to eat a vegetarian diet or to limit the amount of meat you eat to twice or three times a week.
3. After eating, instead of getting up right away, take a moment in silence to feel satiated and grateful for your meal. This will aid in the process of digestion.
4. Practice Yoga at least once a week. Yoga is incredibly balancing for the body as it detoxifies glands and organs, builds strength, and increases flexibility.
5. Treat yourself to massage, acupuncture, or energy healings once a month. This is rewarding for you and it will nourish your body. It feels good!
The mind is nourished primarily through the thoughts we think. Here are some mind exercises which you can practice all the time at no loss:

1. Work on growing a non-judgmental awareness to your thought patterns
2. Think affirmatively, affirming the things which you want in life rather than complaining
3. Practice meditation for 20 minutes every day
4. Learn something new every day

The spirit is nourished through all of the above actions. However, the results of the above actions help you grow and feel nourished all of the time. Out of this come Love and Joy and Peace, all of which continue to nourish Spirit:

1. Do one thing every day that makes you happy!
2. Feel grateful for what you have and for what is still to come!
3. LOVE unconditionally, giving and receiving and always remaining open to possibility.
