The First (Baby) Steps on my Spiritual Journey by Amanda White

Not everyone loves their first few weeks of training at a new job, but I’m happy to say that this time, I’m the exception to the rule.  My training at the R3 Wellness Center (R3 is short for Renew, Reward, ReConnect your Mind, Body and Spirit) consisted of free massages, life coaching, Reiki, energy healing and more.  Thus far, the little taste of services I’ve experienced has left me feeling insatiable. I want more, I want to immerse myself in everything that the R3 Wellness Center has to offer and everything that they stand for, because it’s beautiful and light and love and we need more of that in the world. Luckily, it’s right here at our disposal in Trappe, PA. Most importantly, R3 has been the catalyst that sparked the beginning of my Spiritual Journey. I am excited to start to renew, reward, and reconnect my mind, body and spirit.

My first experience (and really the first step of my Spiritual Journey) was with Deborah Tray, who is a Life Coach and a Grief Counselor. She has the most kind, piercing blue eyes you’ll ever see. She helped me to pin-point what my core life values were and what steps I needed to take to re-align myself with those values. For instance, I said that I had lost touch with my spirituality and wanted it back. With her advice, I’ve set up a ‘sacred’ space in the corner of my room, where I go to sit quietly, pray, and meditate. This space serves as a visual reminder and its helped to keep my new found commitment to spirituality on the fore-front of my brain, as I see it every day.

The second step of my Spiritual Journey led me to Elaina Pimentel, who gave me a massage that I wished would never end. I personally can always tell the difference between a massage therapist who truly cares about their job and your well being, and one who doesn’t. Elaina not only cares, but she has been in the business for 10 years and works with a  range of modalities such as deep tissue, acupressure, compression, myofascial release, and  trigger point therapy. As I sit writing this from an uncomfortable desk chair, I want nothing more than to be back on that soft table, with the warm plush blanket covering me and the scent of essential oils wafting in the air. Of course you can’t forget Elaina feeling her way around my back, releasing the knots and the tension that I hold so tightly in my shoulders. All while beautiful piano music plays softly in the background. Obviously, it’s time to book another appointment.

The third step of my Spiritual Journey brought me to Mario Neagu, who performed Reiki on me-- after which some “well-timed” events happened (you could say kismet). During our session, Mario received a message that I need to be careful of the people I have in my life and  I need to shield myself from their negative energy . Two people came to mind when he said this--- my former boss and my roommate. I sat there thinking about how I was going to use his advice and what would be the best (and most graceful) option for getting these people out of my life.  Within the next two days, my boss called to say circumstances had changed for the summer and she no longer needed a nanny and my roommate told me that she needed to move out. What happened was not a coincidence: that was the world—energy, light, love—taking care of me when I was open to it. It’s the inertia of having integrated myself into the R3 culture.  If you are struggling to find yourself, if you are feeling lost or confused, come to the R3 Wellness Center, start your Spiritual Journey, sit in on a Spiritual Discussion, get your Chakras cleansed, do something—anything!—that might allow you to take those first steps onto a brighter path, just like I did.

I hope you all enjoyed hearing about the start of my Spiritual journey. The great news is that I’ve just been hired as the Director of Social Media at R3 Wellness Center where I will be blogging on a regular basis. My hope is that I inspire you to begin or enhance your Spiritual journey at the R3 Wellness Center where you will surely Renew, Reward and ReConnect your Mind, Body & Spirit.
