Flood Warning Issued for the Perkiomen Creek

The warning is in effect until 12:45 p.m.

 

The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a flood warning for urban areas and small streams in Montgomery County, including the Perkiomen Creek.

According to the alert, the East Greenville and Schwenksville gages of the Perkiomen Creek were above the flood stage and rising as of 8 a.m.

Currently, the Schwenksville gage is at 8.08 feet, which is above the moderate state of flooding.

The East Greenville gage is at 4.26 feet, which is in the low stages of a minor flood, according to weather.gov.

The Perkiomen Creek at Graterford is at 10.03 feet, and flooding stage is 11 feet – it is predicted to rise to 10.9 feet.

The National Weather Service warns residents not to drive vehicles into areas where water covers the roadway.
