A Montgomery County Republican Committee representative announced Thursday that Chairman Robert J. Kerns has resigned his position, a day after it was reported that he is the subject of a sexual assault investigation.

“MCRC today received the resignation of its chairman, Robert J. Kerns. MCRC will follow the procedures outlined in its bylaws on the selection of a new party chairman,” said MCRC Executive Director John Kelemen.  “All day-to-day activities of the committee will continue uninterrupted.”

Kelemen said that the resignation will be effective on Friday at 5 p.m.; MCRC has no comment on media reports to a possible criminal investigation of Kerns.

Yesterday, it was reported that Kerns is being investigated for sexual assault after an alleged incident on Oct. 25.

Kerns was elected chairman of the organization in 2008; just one day prior to the alleged incident, Gov. Tom Corbett announced a truce between warring factions of the party, which had caused organization to suffer over the past 20 years.

According to the committee, a special meeting will be held on Dec. 4 to elect a new chairman.

The woman did go to Grandview Hospital .. Where she gave urine, blood and had a internal exam .. She was then sent to Abington Hospital where she was given another internal exam. Not sure why someone would buy a bottle of Chardonnay and ask for two glasses when leaving a party? I thought I read that the grand jury found the Chardonnay to be laced with Ambien. The truth will come out sooner or later .. it usually does. We will find out who the victim is and who is the liar.

"A urine sample of the victim was submitted to Quest Diagnostics for laboratory testing, which tested positive for the presence of Ambien, according to Ferman" There was a 1/2 of a bottle of Chardonnay found in the trunk of his car ..along with pink duct tape and KY jelly. Who flinges $100.00 dollar bills at a woman. Who leaves their DNA on a woman because they MAY HAVE touched the woman's bare breast & vagina when lifting them out of their car? I know .. I know .. 'Innocent until proven guilty' If Kerns is innocent God Bless him. If not, I hope he realizes a man with his Power & Authority should be a mentor to all and not a imbarrassment .. especially to his wife, children, and relatives. If guilty there is more than one victim here ... his employee ( physically & mentally) & family.

Ambien increases the effects of alcohol and they aren't pretty.
