A woman was arrested for allegedly attempting to take heroin
into Graterford Prison in Skippack Township, according to police.
Kristal Monique Johnson, 29, of West Bringhurst Street in Philadelphia, was the passenger in a vehicle that entered onto Graterford property on the evening of Sept. 26 and was stopped at a checkpoint manned by Pennsylvania Department of Correction officers, according to The Reporter.
When police received permission to search the Ford Econonoline van that Johnson arrived in, her purse was found, allegedly with a clear Ziploc bag that contained 22 packets, most of which were labeled “Posted,” which contained heroin, according to the affidavit of probable cause.
The purse, which Johnson gave permission to search, also included Johnson’s driver’s license, credit cards and social security card, police said. Johnson told police that everything in the purse, with the exception of the heroin, belonged to her.
Johnson was charged with contraband and furnishing a controlled substance to a convict, as well as possession with intent to deliver, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia, according to court records.
Johnson is in Montgomery County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 cash bail.
