Victim Offers Reward to Find Truck Used in Deer Theft

Police are searching for a pickup truck used in the burglary of a deer that was stored in an Upper Hanover garage; the victim is offering a $1,500 reward for information.

The Pennsylvania State Police are searching for a late 1990’s model pickup truck that was used when the body of a deer was stolen from an Upper Hanover Garage on Nov. 27, and the victim is offering a $1,500 reward.

According to a police report, Christopher Mullaney, of the 1500 block of Layfield Road, found a live trophy 9 point buck that had been illegally hunted and shot in Green Lane Park near his home. Mullaney then humanely put the deer down and transported the body to his garage.

Police believe that the individuals who shot the deer then entered Mullaney’s garage and stole the dear head and hide, leaving the carcass behind.

The suspects fled on route 663 in an unknown direction in a late 1990’s model heavy duty, two-tone (green over tan) diesel pickup truck, possibly a ford make, with a wooden structure in the bed of the truck, police said.

Mullaney is offering a $1,500 reward for any information leading to the arrest.  Anyone with information is asked to contact the PSP Skippack at 610-410-7841.
