Drunken Driver Crashed Into Tree, Police Say

Pennsylvania State Police report January citations for driving under the influence.

According to Pennsylvania State Police, three were charged in Skippack Township for driving under the influence (DUI) in the month of January.

Bradley Reed, 20, of Schwenksville, was charged with DUI after an accident on Jan. 6, police said.

PSP reports state that Reed was driving west on Township Line Road in Skippack Township at 2:55 a.m. when his car left the road. Reed reportedly struck a tree, went down an embankment and overturned his vehicle onto the driver’s side in the front lawn of a property at 445 Township Line Road, police said.

Police said Reed was not injured and was wearing a seat belt.

A 45-year-old Limerick man has been charged with driving under the influence after he exhibited signs of erratic driving and failed to use his turn signal on Jan. 19 at about 1 a.m., police reports said. The man was transported to Phoenixville Hospital for a legal blood draw after failing field sobriety tests, police said. Results are pending.

In a third incident, a 22-year-old woman of Douglassville has been charged with DUI after state police pulled her over on Route 73 at Old Forty Foot Road for a traffic violation, reports said. The woman was pulled over on Jan. 19 at 3:24 a.m., the report said. It was unknown if she was driving under the influence of alcohol or another controlled substance, said the report.

According to the Department of Motor Vehicles, the legal limit for a driver must be under 0.08, an individual's Blood Alcohol Content (BAC) level. Those found to be driving with any percent higher can be charged with DUI.
