Suspicious Vehicle Spotted at Schwenksville Elementary

Students were kept in from recess Thursday, and a protective service agent was at the school.

Students at Schwenksville Elementary spent recess inside Thursday after a suspicious vehicle was reported in the parking lot behind the school.

School principal Pauline M. Galiardi said an unidentified man was observed sitting in a white Buick in the parking lot behind the school, located at 55 Second Street, early Thursday morning, and drove away before students arrived, according to a notice sent to parents.

The school notified the Pennsylvania State Police of the incident, and a vehicle matching the description of the school was located at a nearby church, but the person inside the vehicle was not located.

“At this time, we do not feel as though there is an immediate threat to Schwenksville Elementary,” Galiardi said. “However, we have instituted a heightened state of alert and are taking precautionary measures.”

In addition to keeping students in from recess, Galiardi said that an Executive Protective Services agent was assigned in the building and to patrol the ground.
