Special Olympian Raped by Former Driver, Police Say

A Reading man is accused of repeatedly sexually assaulting a 48-year-old mentally disabled woman over a two-year period.

 

A Reading man who owns a transportation company for the mentally disabled was arrested for allegedly raping one of his 48-year-old clients repeatedly over a two-year period, according to various reports.

Joseph T. Lombardo, 59, is charged with rape, involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, indecent assault and indecent exposure in connection with the incidents, which allegedly occurred between 2009 and 2011.

Lombardo owns Life Coach Companion, and initially came in contact with the victim when he was hired to transport her to the Special Olympics in 2009.
