Sisters Jump From Roof During Lower Providence House Fire

The quick-moving fire occurred Thursday night on Hildebidle Drive in the Collegeville section of the township.

Twin 12-year-old sisters jumped out of a second-floor window after their home on the 1000 block of Hildebidle Drive in Lower Providence Township caught fire on Thursday night.

The fire began around 5:30 p.m., according to CBS Local.  The fast-moving fire trapped two girls in a second floor bedroom, where they crawled out of a window and jumped to safety.

Several neighbors came to the scene to help the family, including the girls’ father, 46, who made it outside safely.

“The girls jumped off the roof one by one,” said neighbor Brandon Weinstock, according to Main Line Media News. “The gentlemen who were there tried to catch them.”

All three occupants of the home were taken to the hospital to be evaluated and treated for potential smoke inhalation; the fire marshal was on the scene to determine a cause.
