Schwenksville Teen Charged with Local Thefts from Motor Vehicles: Police [UPDATE]
Tyler Hartner, 18, was allegedly found with stolen goods in his vehicle when he was stopped for a minor traffic violation.
A Schwenksville man reportedly admitted to thefts from motor vehicles in the Upper Providence and Collegeville areas after he was stopped for a minor traffic violation, according to the Limerick Township Police.
Tyler Hartner, 18, of Schwenksville was stopped in Limerick Township for driving with a tail light out when a large amount of stolen property was allegedly found in his vehicle by recruit officer Steven Winneberger, according to Limerick Township Police.
Hartner was questioned by Detective Pat Roche, according to police, and admitted to being involved in thefts from vehicles in the Merion Development, Longmeadow Road, Perkiomen Woods in Upper Providence and an unidentified development in Collegeville.

Hartner was charged on Monday with theft by unlawful taking, theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property; on Wednesday, Hartner was charged with tampering with evidence.
Unable to post 10 percent of $10,000 bail, Hartner was sent to the Montgomery County Correctional Facility; a hearing will be held on Dec. 20.
