Road Rage in Collegeville

Victim found lying in Route 29

Police are looking for the unidentified person or persons who beat a man and left him lying in the northbound lane of Route 29 on Wednesday evening in an appparent "road rage" incident.

Upper Providence Police responded to the intersection of Hopwood Road and S. Collegeville Road on a report of a pedestrian being struck. After an investigation, police determined the incident to be an assault. 

Police radio reports indicated that the man was found bleeding and fading in and out of consciousness. He was transported by Trappe Ambulance to Paoli Hospital.

The suspect allegedly fled the scene before police arrived. Police described him as a white male in his 20s, driving a red vehicle. He was believed to have at least one passenger in the car. Witnesses described the car as a late-1990s hatchback-type.

Collegeville Police Department assisted on the scene and the matter is still under investigation. Upper Providence Police are asking anyone with knowledge of the incident to call 610-933-7899.
